My boyfriend is a white “third culture kid” (TCK) because he grew up overseas. There’s all this literature about TCKs and how they have a difficult adjustment in America and they exist “between cultures.” I don’t want to be completely dismissive, but when I first started reading some of the literature, which really helped him process his experiences, I was like, “What’s the big deal? This is how I feel all the time.”
